Treatment & Costs

A Bowen Treatment session may last up to an hour. There are no oils used. If you prefer, you can be clothed throughout the session. Many people change into T-shirt and shorts or thin material trousers. Tight clothing or clothing with thick seams/back pockets, such as jeans, should not be worn.

One of the main aims of the therapist should be to establish a comprehensive picture of the overall health of a person and not focus only on his or her specific complaint. The first consultation will include discussion into the individual's lifestyle, sleeping pattern and medical history.

During treatment, pauses of several minutes punctuate each series of moves. These breaks are important as they allow the body to respond to the treatment and the therapist to re-assess the area of the body just treated.

Often, during these periods, people begin to feel things happening e.g. heat in the affected area, pain diminishing or easier movement. During and after treatment many people become very relaxed.

Ideally, treatments should be one week apart.
Usually two or three treatments are required to bring about longterm relief. However, many people experience relief after just one treatment. This may be immediately after the treatment or in the days that follow. This can be from conditions that have caused them misery for years.

The price of treatment is £40 per session.

Children's rate from £25
